Breakthrough Performance and Wellness, providing physical therapy in Asheville and Buncombe County, North Carolina, is redefining the role of physical therapy in the lives of active people.

We are an essential line of treatment to recover quickly and thoroughly from sprains, strains, and fractures, but we are much more than that.

We believe that to live life fully and authentically, you need to feel good enough to go hiking, to climb mountains, to play sports and to reach new performance levels, and we can help you achieve that.

We understand that our clients are active people who want to enjoy the mountain lifestyle fully and not be hindered by lingering pain and weakness. In all of our procedures and practices, the needs of our clients are the priority and all our decision-making stems forward from that.

To that end, we see our profession as not merely a reactive treatment to injuries that have already occurred, but as a means to sustaining an active lifestyle without recurring problems.

Our client-centered approach fosters movement and optimization.

We are also certified in Dry Needling and have an excellent reputation for our success in treating sports injuries and providing sports conditioning.

Our clinics are located within Inspire Personal Fitness at 554 Riverside Drive, Asheville and within Glenn Bridge Crossfit at 12 Glenn Willow Dr Unit 67, Arden. There is free parking and access to CrossFit equipment and even a grassy outdoor area as needed for exercise.

We believe that your full appointment should be spent under the care and guidance of your licensed and experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy, not being passed to an aide or technician five minutes into your visit.

Book an appointment or a free assessment with us to learn more how we can help you. We work in a Direct Access state, which means you can take advantage of our services with or without a doctor’s referral. All clients are furnished with itemized bills which can be submitted by them to their insurance provider, if their plan includes coverage.

PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, Cert. DN, Cert. MMOA

A fascination with learning how the human body work and how to make it perform even better drew me into the professional of physical therapy and ultimately to the opening of my clinic, Breakthrough Performance and Wellness in Asheville, NC.

I grew up playing a variety of sports, but shifted my focus to soccer early on. I played collegiate soccer as a three-year starter and two-year captain including one year in the pro development league before entering Physical Therapy school in Philadelphia, PA.

I also coached soccer for 10 years and through all of these experiences, my fascination with physical therapy grew as I deal with my own injuries and those of my team members. I was always conscious of the need to do better when it came to sports and active living in general.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from Pennsylvania State University and my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Thomas Jefferson University.

Over the past several years I have developed a particular interest working in sports and orthopedics, completing an orthopedic residency and working with multiple athletes predominantly in the CrossFit niche.

I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified in Dry Needling, Certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and mobilization/manipulation, Certified in the Modern Management of the Older Adult, and USAW Level 1 Certified.

As well, I am an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
